The Founders of Messages on Hold
The following is an excerpt from a message by David Bonnin, our Director, to all of our web visitors. David founded the On Hold Communications industry. His message says it all:
……..”It is interesting to note that when you put someone on hold, you are being pretty inconsiderate to a fellow human being and a prospective customer.
So I would like it on record that in starting the message on hold industry, I did not set out to provide a solution for poor customer service!
The reality is that in 1986, my idea for Messages On Hold was to bring novelty and corporate information together to make the inevitable ‘wait’ more useful” – and so an industry was started.
It has since transpired that recorded voice announcements have become a vital part of customer communications- to such an extent that the customer experience is now recognized as the "make or break" for success in customer retention, sales, and revenue growth.
There is no other company in the On Hold Industry with more history, experience and technical expertise, or who service so many major corporations in Australia.
Over the years, we have watched many industry suppliers come and go. This is a phenomenon of industries where it appears easy to enter the field. Such are the forces associated with consistent quality On Hold services, that it soon becomes unsustainable for many suppliers.
So take advice from the longest serving company in this industry: don’t focus on a service based on price – focus on what it may cost you if you do not have the optimal On Hold Service Provider.
